is the premier source for handspinning information, inspiration, and community. We produce content in print, online, and in person through a variety of formats.

About this role
The Content Editor will support the Editor in developing handspinning content for the subscription publication, website, in-person event, and other platforms. The role is highly collaborative, working closely with the spinning editorial team to improve our offerings and procedures. It is a fully remote position, though preference will be given to candidates within driving distance of Fort Collins, Colorado.

In this role, you will:
• Plan and write departments and stories for the magazine and website, following the guidance of the Editor and coordinating with editorial colleagues
• Edit contributors’ pieces for content, grammar, clarity, length, and style, and ensure that content meets our high standard of quality
• Participate in planning future issues with the Editor and content team, from developing themes through assigning stories and identifying contributors
• Fact-check articles and identify accompanying images
• Participate in development and execution of new projects
• Review layouts for accuracy and consistency
• Support Editor with correspondence, organization, brainstorming, and other tasks
• Monitor customer-facing email account and provide customer support

You’ll be great at this job if you:
• Have 3+ years of experience actively developing your handspinning skills and knowledge
• Cultivate a deep understanding of spinning tools, materials, and techniques
• Demonstrate understanding of the current handspinning community and market
• Possess an excellent command of the written English language
• Communicate skillfully in writing, on Zoom/virtual meetings, and in person
• Thrive on problem-solving and flexibility
• Navigate programs such as Office suite, image resizing, database, and content management systems easily
• Stay organized yet flexible and manage your time effectively amid a variety of projects
• Balance working independently with cooperative tasks
• Incorporate and provide ongoing feedback to improve processes and content

We anticipate that the salary range for this position is $53,000–$56,000. This is the range that in good faith believe we is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.

Requirements:
• Knowledge and hands-on skills in handspinning. Knowledge of weaving, needlework, and/or other fiber arts is desirable but not required.
• Organization, self-directed time management, and meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent command of written English, grammar, and style.
• A collaborative, flexible approach to working as part of a small, high-performing team.
• The ability to take and embrace direction and advice from your manager.
• 3+ years’ work in a professional setting, preferably in journalism, media, or crafts.
• Authorization to work in the United States
